Former August manager Alex Hysel started FAKE CLOTHING in 2018 while studying fashion design at UW-Madison with a focus on clothing as art rather than consumer products. Now based in Brooklyn, the brand produces readymade streetwear, though it is still filtered through an artistic lens. True to the name of the brand, themes and artwork always point to the question of what is real versus what is fake.
