August Aux :: 042 “b.Eautiful Mix” is brought to you by b.Eautiful, the anonymous Los Angeles based brand dedicated to exploring Japanese art and culture beyond simply Anime and sushi.
Mastered by August's Samuel Wallner, the mix features a collection of 70s/80s style Japanese city-pop rock and Jazz — studded with Japanese music legends. Haruomi Hosono considered to be one of the most influential musicians in Japanese pop music history kicks off the mix. Masayoshi Takanaka and Taeko Onuki were influential figures in the city pop genre of the late 70s and 80s. Shigeru Suzuki the prolific session musician contributed to 588 recordings. Yukihiro Takahashi is best known internationally as the drummer and vocalist for innovative electronic group Yellow Magic Orchestra. This selection gives you the chance to dip your toes in the endless musical talents that come from Japan.
