August is a curated retail concept and community hub based in Madison, Wisconsin. Grounded in intentional design, culture, and high-quality apparel, we aim to provide an elevated store experience that seamlessly connects our community with the world's most sought-after brands and timeless aesthetic work.
We are seeking a versatile, detail-oriented Photographer (Part-Time or Intern) to join our creative team in Madison, WI. In this role, you will capture visual content across multiple facets of our brand; including e-commerce product imagery, soft goods and footwear, editorial lookbooks, and lifestyle activations. You will manage the photographic workflow from setup and lighting through post-production processing and color grading, ensuring all output meets industry standards and reflects August's elevated visual identity.
Creative & Technical Execution
Execute digital imagery across e-commerce tabletop/ghost mannequin setups, flat lays, on-model lifestyle, and editorial campaigns.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot studio strobe lighting, natural lighting, and ambient light setups for accurate product rendition and skin tones.
Manage post-production workflows including file management, batch processing, culling, color correction, and image retouching.
Maintain consistent visual quality, exposure, white balance, and cropping across all product and editorial outputs.
Ensure all final images meet web delivery specifications and production deadlines for e-commerce and marketing
Workflow & Collaboration
Work closely with art director and deliver photoshoots on schedule.
Participate in visual concept development, mood boarding, and creative brainstorms.
Maintain organized digital asset libraries and project files.
0–2 years of professional photography experience or relevant internships (Entry-Level to Junior candidates are encouraged to apply).
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc). Or with CaptureOne is also good.
Demonstrated background or interest in fashion photography.
Strong foundational knowledge of lighting, color theory, and photography foundations.
Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to take constructive creative feedback.
Ability to work on site in or around Madison, WI.
